462 – topic motion
I moved (descriptive) metadata, which I didn’t get to last week, to this week, and moved some of the readings with it. Ditto copyright, to next week. There will be a brief committee meeting.

I loaded Assignment 3 into eLearning – not due for a while, but we will discuss it tonight.

In a fit of blindingly careless cutting and pasting, I managed to give you the answer to part 4, question 7 (what kinds of subject headings). So just ignore that question.
415 – Cambridge closed
Thanks to Heather Waddell for a heads-up that the main branch of the Cambridge Public Library will be closed longer than anticipated, making it of no use in the browsing assignment. I will accept petitions for large main branches of other cities (e.g., Newton, Wellesley) – just ask first by e-mail.
462 – books
I have placed my personal copy of the book I showed you yesterday (Creating digital collections) on reserve , and have asked the library to order it. Also, there are now three copies of Reese and Banerjee on reserve, so that should help.

Yesterday I e-mailed the dean from class, to express a desire by night students to have tea with the dean. This was her reply:
