DUTIES: This Circulation Services and Operations Coordinator (CSOC) serves as a member of the Circulation Department, coordinating services and operations of Bentley’s state-of-the-art library. The CSOC works in conjunction with the Circulation Department to receive and distribute over $1M annually in books, serials, and periodicals to the Circulation, Reference, and Technical Services departments to ease the burden on those departments for processing, cataloguing, and shelving. S/he opens the 60,000 square foot building each morning, disables the security system, checks the operation of the electronic compact stacks, and prepares the busiest building on campus for the day by attending to any issues left unaddressed by the overnight cleaning crew. The CSOC will coordinate events, hours, and services with the other tenants of the library, including staff and managers at the Deloitte Cafe, the Writing Center, the Office for Speakers of Other Languages, Client Services, and the curator of the Caturano Art Gallery for monthly artist receptions. S/he is expected to be the library’s primary point of contact for contractors, custodial staff, Sodexho/Dining Services, maintenance, and related vendors. The CSOC oversees students conducting three daily detailed walkthroughs of the library to ensure optimal service levels for the extensive 108 weekly hours the library operates. S/he will enter, coordinate, and follow through to completion the library’s annual average of 180 work orders with Bentley’s Facilities staff.
