Required Skills

Education: Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited library school; Undergraduate degree in a health science discipline or equivalent experience preferred.
Familiarity with a variety of Library/Health Science Services concepts, practices, and procedures within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Proficiency with standard software including Microsoft Office and Endnote.
Proficiency with literature databases such as Embase and PubMed.
Strong service orientation and demonstrated ability to solve customers’ problems and improve processes.
Experience with maintaining electronic subscriptions and link resolvers.
Html coding and development of websites.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks within a team environment, relying on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Self motivation and reliability.

Required Experience:

2-5 years experience delivering integrated information support in an academic or life science organization (industry experience strongly preferred)

Our client, a well established and globally recognized pharmaceutical company is seeking the following:

The Knowledge Services Specialist develops and provides library and scientific/medical information Services to colleagues in support of Company products. This is a service oriented position with a focus on rapidly identifying and solving problems for internal customers across the organization. Core responsibilities include overseeing an integrated process for enterprise-wide access to the medical/scientific literature, managing corporate subscriptions to journals and other content sources, searching literature databases, acquiring articles through a document delivery services vendor and maintaining a searchable, copyright compliant electronic repository of publications that is easily accessible to Company personnel.

Specific responsibilities include:

Maintain and refine an integrated set of resources that connect Company end-users to the medical/scientific literature.
Assess, maintain and manage publication aggregator accounts and corporate journal subscriptions. Make decisions/recommendations on spending in this area.
Maintain and expand the eLibrary, a digital document repository and retrieval system for scientific articles and posters.
Fulfill document delivery requests.
Formulate search strategies and conduct literature searches using various literature search databases.
Create and distribute literature search notification alerts to internal stakeholders.
Determine copyright permissions based on the annual business license maintained with the Copyright Compliance Center (CCC) and specific publisher license agreements. Promote a culture of copyright compliance.
Maintain department’s SharePoint site.
Train employees on Cubist information resources including literature processes.
Conduct ongoing outreach to other functional groups to determine needs for additional knowledge services and to promote the sharing of information across the organization.
Research, assess and implement new technologies in collaboration with Information and Business Solutions to develop and promote a knowledge culture within the company.
