Associate Director for Academic Technology, Middlesex School, Concord, MA

The Associate Director for Academic Technology is responsible for the
application and advancement of technology to support the academic
mission and curricular needs of Middlesex School. Middlesex School is
an independent, co-educational secondary school of 375 students based
in Concord, Massachusetts. Middlesex School is an equal opportunity

In short, this position is charged with advancing, in both applied and
strategic fashion, the technological vision of the School. The
Associate Director for Academic Technology & Support reports directly
to the Director of Technology and works closely with the Dean of
Academic Affairs, the Academic Council of Department Heads, and
individual teachers, serving as an inspiring liaison to the academic
programs at the School. Specific responsibilities include:

? Working directly with Academic Department Heads to cultivate
technological facility and expertise for individual teaching faculty
members
? Overseeing and deploying hardware, software and other appropriate
device/media in classrooms, Warburg Library and other academic areas
? Coordinating with Facilities and Operations on technological
improvements and renovations of School spaces
? Managing and developing MXMoodle, the School?s existing course
management application, in addition to scouting out other
technological solutions
? Serving as a liaison between the Technology Department and the
School?s online presence, including website
? Coordinating all training, orientation, and development activities
for faculty, staff, and students
? Assisting the Director of Technology in formulating and
implementing policies, programs, procedures, and standards for activities
of the Technology Department.

The role requires outstanding interpersonal, organizational and
communications skills; a proven ability to balance the needs of
multiple constituents, and a demonstrated track record of leveraging
technology solutions in an academic setting. The ideal candidate will
have substantial experience in a blend of information technology and
academic settings.

The School particularly seeks candidates with previous teaching
experience, ideally at the high school level, as the position is a
full-faculty position that will involve teaching. Skilled, creative,
and committed use of technology in a classroom setting is more
important than experience in any particular academic discipline.

The Associate Director for Academic Technology is a full-time member
of the faculty. The position involves a six-day workweek throughout
the academic calendar, as well as ?on call? responsibilities in
non-business hours. In addition, the Associate Director for Academic
Technology will participate in all faculty obligations and assume
evening and weekend duties. Willingness to engage with enthusiasm in
all aspects of a residential community is essential.
