Job Description:
This is a para-professional position located at the Canton Campus library. The successful candidate will: charge, renew, and discharge library books and materials; monitor the borrowing of materials; verify and shelve books and materials; check-in and oversee periodicals; aid library users in locating and using materials; aid users in electronic searches; may instruct classes and, perform related work as required.
Requirements:
REQUIRED: Minimum of Associate degree; some teaching experience; ability to communicate effectively and to work cheerfully and tactfully with diverse populations; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to demonstrate telephone skills; ability to lift 30 pounds, bend and reach low and high areas of shelving; ability to stand during shift; ability to work independently.
PREFERRED: Knowledge of library practices and procedures including the ability to file material, operate simple library machines, etc.; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; working knowledge of SIRSI system and LC a plus; experience in a customer service field.
Additional Information:
$17.00 per hour; without benefits
2 nights per week
Wednesday & Thursday
3:30pm-8:00pm (about 34 weeks)
Position follows college semester term
