DPLA Opportunities

The Digital Public Library of America ( DPLA) is working on a set of fictional use case scenarios to help project participants focus the vision and scope of the DPLA platform and applications (http://dp.la/use-cases/), and we need volunteers to build on the work that’s already been done. We couldn’t think of a better crowd to help than the librarians and information professionals of the GSLIS community!

Volunteers are encouraged to get creative and finish the multiple scenarios using the DPLA as a solution to the problem described.

Additionally, we have one travel scholarship slot open for the DPLA Audience & Participation Workstream workshop on July 27, 2012 in Baltimore, MD. The purpose of the workshop is to determine what activities and tasks should be included in the set of core DPLA activities and functions and will draw heavily from the DPLA use cases.

If interested, please email dpla@cyber.law.harvard.edu by July 9, 2012 with a short explanation (1-2 paragraphs) touching upon your interest in the workshop and the work you’ve done on the DPLA use cases, as well as any other work in this space.

For questions, please contact Kenny Whitebloom (kwhitebloom@cyber.law.harvard.edu).
