I thought this might be interesting to see over the upcoming winter break. Portland isn’t really all that far away, and the museum has some wonderful stuff in its permanent collection, as well. Their current exhibit is called “Both Sides of the Camera: Photographs from the Collection of Judith Ellis Glickman” and it features portraits by famous photographers juxtaposed with local Maine photographers. Judith Glickman apparently spent her life living in both Los Angeles and Portland, so collected photographs from both coasts. It looks like it could be really fun to see! It runs until January 6, 2008.
