If you are looking for a museum internship this summer, you should definitely check out this paid internship in Anchorage, Alaska.  The Atwood Resource Center at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center is offering  the annual William E. Davis internship, a 9 week, paid internship in library and archival work which will include processing and describing photograph collections and creating finding aids.  Application are due by June 17th and more information can be found on the Museum’s website.  On a personal note, I lived in Alaska for a year and, while I lived in a different part of the state, I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to spend the summer there!

Internship at the Museum of the City of New York

If you are looking for a museum internship in New York City this summer, this opportunity is perfect for you.  There are two positions available, one working with their Theater Collection and the other with their Manuscripts and Ephemera Collection.  Each position will give the intern experience evaluating items for conservation and preservation, creating finding aids and processing items.  There may also be opportunities to help with digitization and reference work.  The positions are both full time.  More information is available on the ArLiSNAP blog.

More Exciting Opportunities Through AMIA

A couple week’s ago the blog had a post about the Kodak Fellowship in Film Preservation available through AMIA and now the GSLIS Jobs and Opportunities Blog is highlighting even more internships and scholarships from the Association.  First up, is the Internship at the Image Permanence Institute (IPI).  This internship is offered by IPI in cooperation with AMIA and offers interns a chance to spend 3 months at IPI in Rochester, NY learning about “the preservation of visual and other forms of recorded information.”  The internship offers a stipend and reimbursement of travel expenses.  More information is available on the GSLIS Jobs and Opportunities Blog or on AMIA’s website.   Applications are due by May 1st.
