About the Project

The digital scrapbook is part of the Notable Women of Simmons College collection. It was created by the students in LIS 462 (Digital Libraries), a course in the master's program of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons. The project ran from September to December 2008. The 25 members of the class were divided into 16 committees or offices, with many students serving on two committees each, to share responsibilities and to simulate the typical committee approach to digital library creation. The course wiki was used to organize committee work and share feedback and commentary. The scrapbook was unveiled on December 11, 2008.
